Solo exhibition at Rhayader Museumand Gallery (CARAD)

During 2017 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to have an Exhibition at CARAD Museum and Gallery here in Rhayader. Between 16th September and 18th November I exhibited a range of my work. The exhibition was entitled ‘Inspired by Rust’ and contained a range of my rust inspired work.
The gallery in CARAD is spacious and can be configured in a variety of ways to best display the work. I showed some design and preparation work alongside a range of wearable art including some hand felted jackets decorated with both rust and machine embroidery.

A variety of both large and small wall hangings in pieced patchwork and applique were displayed on the walls.

I was able to create a demonstration of my rusting methods to help visitors’ to understand the decoration of the fabrics.

It was very pleasing to see my work displayed in such a nice gallery space and to receive such positive feedback from the many visitors.

Region 12 of the Quilter’s Guild, 40th Anniversary Exhibition 2019

My most recent work, an appliqued figurative wall hanging to celebrate 40 years of the Quilter’s Guild, is part of the travelling exhibition being shown at a number of venues around South, West and Mid Wales between 1st March and 19th October 2019.

The Art Deco inspired wall hanging, along with other pieces from members of region 12 of the Quilter’s Guild, has been exhibited in Cardigan Castle and Flying Goose quilt shop in Llandeilo. During the summer it will travel to Cynon Valley Museum in Aberdare, Swansea Library and from 23rd September 2019, will be on display at CARAD here in Rhayader.

The travelling exhibition will finish on 19th October 2019. Note: (Dathliad is Welsh for Celebrate)
